Counseling Services

We are pleased to let you know that we are contracting with Desert View Counseling Services in Farmington to have a counselor available to our students once a week.  We will offer students the opportunity to check in with her if they feel it is needed; teachers will be able to refer students to meet with her also.  Additionally, we may offer support groups for students experiencing difficult times–dealing with death or adjusting to changes in family situations, for example.  We are proud to be able to provide this type of support to our students.  However, if you prefer that your child not be included in this type of activity, please notify the office by phone.

Living Library

Monday, September 10th @ the Aztec Boys and Girls Club 8:30 – 10 am

Students did not participate in Mosaic University for the month of August.  During that time they focused on story elements in text.  The third—eighth grade classes will demonstrate the use of story elements (setting, characters, themes) in different small group ways (Skit, Game, etc).

You are invited to join us as we present these story elements.

Student Lunches

Student Lunches

The Mosaic staff would like to ensure that students have a complete lunch at school—fork included for the mashed potatoes, bowl included for soup, etc.  There is precious little time (11:40—12:15) to get lunch and playtime in.  If a student has to track down their utensils and warm up for five minutes after waiting in line, they don’t get the expected lunch time.  Thank you!

A note from our principal

Hello Mosaic families!

Welcome to Mosaic Academy’s 13th year!  Although 13 may be an unlucky number for some, we are convinced that this year will be one of our best ever!   This will be a big year for us as we take our charter document back to the Aztec district for reauthorization in order to keep our doors open in Aztec in the years to come.  We will need your support for this and hope you will be ready to share your best Mosaic stories with us and with the Aztec community.  We will keep you posted as that time draws near.

We are working hard to refine our safety procedures to make sure that our students remain safe in every part of each school day and across our campus.  We ask for your cooperation, especially with regard to our drop off and pick up procedures. This is very important for the safety of all of our kids!  If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to share them with me or others in the office.

This quarter, we are plunging into studies of the human body; we hope you will join us for our museum and health fair in October.  Our older students will be providing a Living Library for our younger classes in early September.  Third through eighth grade students are already working hard to make this event fun and exciting for the “littles” while learning and reviewing a few concepts along the way for themselves.

The staff welcomes you to be on our campus to observe and participate, to have lunch periodically with your students and to help us celebrate the learning that takes place here daily.   We are so glad you have decided to join us for the 2018-2019 school year and look forward to lots of great shared experiences ahead!
